A short summary of project management phases & duties offered by Chesapeake Contract Furnishings include the following:

1. Initial Concept Meeting

Linda will attend your company’s preliminary concept meeting to gather information based upon your schematic design. This phase includes:

  • Needs assessment analysis
  • Project scope assessment
  • Initial budget discussions
  • Data collection (architectural drawings, project budget and schedule)

2. Concept Presentation

Linda will work to create conceptual ideas that are solutions to program and site requirements. The Concept Presentation shall provide those solutions that add character to the project. Presentation materials will enable your planning committee to easily envision several options for the final design. This phase will include:

  • Concept design options and imagery that capture the essence of the project
  • Presentation samples (hard samples, sample boards, drawings, photographs, fabrics)
  • Outline of materials proposed for pricing

3. Design Development

After the approval process is given to one of the options developed during the concept presentation, CCF will turn your vision into complete specifications, which can then be sent out for bid or turned into the final project documents.  Design Development services include the following:

  • Image boards with material samples, cut sheet, color swatches, etc. of proposed finishes
  • Initial specification sheets with quantities and budget numbers
  • Preliminary location plans for all furniture with proposed materials identified

4. Procurement, Delivery & On-Site Installation

With CCF managing these final steps, the need for hiring additional personnel to handle these functions will be eliminated, thereby saving you project dollars. Components of this phase include:

  • Confirming final specifications & placing orders
